Greetings and welcome to Adam Peot Art
Thank you for bringing some truly unique, colorful and enriching art into your world. As a creativly driven soul, it is my intention that the art I have made becomes an inspiring gift in your life. My reward comes from creating and sharing art that that makes others feel better in some way (and its alraight to admit that we're always looking for ways to feel better these days). This may happen by supporting a more beautiful aesthetic space, as an object of meditation or in the form of an uplifting story. With this intention in mind, my hope is that I can provide you with something uniquely fullfilling; whether in the form of a public mural that helps distinguish your business or home, an unforgettable commission or a favorite print. Although I must admit, the greatest pleasure for me comes from sharing public art that the greatest number of people can enjoy.
I hope that my work helps you to recognize that in our busy and often distracted lives, art can act as an immediate and pure reminder of the beauty, emotion, intuition and depth of existence. In this way I beleive art to offer the potential for a direct spiritual experience and sense of re enchantment with life. An unforgettable image can also be the difference maker that takes a business or room and from being just "that great place" or room, to becoming known and discussed as that great place with that amazing art/mural!
In a culture often defined by stress, materialism, technology and disconnection from nature, themes such as beauty, joy, wonder, connection, awareness and intuition-imagination are more needed than ever. I would like people to view or read my work, smile and perhaps reconnect with feelings often burried beneath the distractions of modern life, while always finding a little twist of something fresh and unexpected.
Art and creativity have been staples of my life from my earliest recollections. I have evolved from only the use of pencils, to utilizing watercolors, oils, acrylics, ink and scratchboard and pastels. With so many ways to be artistic I find it impossible to be satisfied with only one medium.
Although I was raised in suburban Northern California, the strongest influences on my life came as a result of spending weekends and summers in either the High Sierra Nevada Mountains of California or on my grandparents farm in rural Wisconsin. Travels and living throughout Europe and India have also further expanded my source for inspiriation, experience and ideas. It was at these rich places that I developed an appreciation for and strong connection with the diverse beauty of the natural world, humanity and the potential of imagination. I am grateful to say that I have not lost these connections, and it is through art, wrtiting and music that I hope to express and share them with others.
Although I initially concentrated on Children's Books illustrations, I am now feeling drawn to more ethereal pieces which look at the abstract and ironic world of human history, spirit and nature, and which can appeal to both old souls and young hearts. Every life and room needs a little inspiration, and I hope my work can help to fill this unconventional space.
My small contribution to the world...
At the moment my notion of "home" is split between quiet summers 7,200 feet high in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, just a step away from the forested wilderness, and winters enjoying the beauty and warmth of Santa Barbara California (hopefully with a few wanderings in between).
